Kapuso actress Glaiza de Castro once dreamed of becoming a journalist prior to her acting career. In the latest episode of Ang Walang Kwentang Podcast where the actress was a guest, she shared how she grew up watching veteran broadcasters Karen Davila, Korina Sanchez, and Jessica Soho which somehow influenced her decision before entering college.

While she did dream of becoming a journalist, fate had other plans for Glaiza as she pursued an acting career.

Kumbaga, masscomm pa rin yung nadali,” she said.

The Kapuso actress stars in the film 58th, an animated biographical drama directed by Carl Joseph Papa. She plays the role of Maria Reynafe Castillo, a daughter of the missing photojournalist, Reynaldo "Bebot" Momay, who is the 58th victim of the Maguindanao Massacre.

Glaiza admitted that she sometimes questions herself as to why she continues to accept roles such as these as she’s also worried about her security. She previously starred in the 2018 film, Liway, which was based on a true story during the Martial Law era.

Despite this, the Kapuso actress maintained that it’s her duty as an actress to use her talent to good use.

Kahit yung Liway, nadoon sa YouTube ngayon, sino ba yung in power ngayon?
