Comedian and actress Ai-Ai delas Alas gave her reaction to the wedding news of her ex-husband, Gerald Sibayan, to his non-showbiz partner in the US earlier this week. In a statement shared with King of Talk Boy Abunda on Fast Talk, she maintained that she already knew that he was going to marry someone new as he needs to stay in the US.
Ai-Ai and Gerald previously tied the knot back in December 2017 at the Christ the King Parish Church in Greenmeadows in Quezon City. The former couple renewed their vows in Las Vegas in 2022 before announcing their separation in 2024.

“Alam naman natin na mangyayari yan. Expected ko na yan nung hiniwalayan niya ako. Kailangan niya na mag-stay sa Amerika kaya kailangan niya na magpakasal,” Ai-Ai said.
While she already knew his plans, she is hopeful that her ex-husband won’t be doing the same thing that to his new wife that he did to her.
“Sana lang, huwag niyang gawin sa iba ang ginawa niya sa akin. Hayaan na natin siya. At least, naka-suit siya, hindi naka-polo lang. Basta ang alam ko, English speaking ang babae na pinakasalan niya kasi isang buwan bago ako iniwan ni Gerald, Ingles na rin ang pakikipag-usap niya sa akin,” she added.
Ai-Ai expressed her gratitude to everyone that sent her heartwarming messages after the news of Gerald tying the knot surfaced on social media. She assured everyone that she has already moved on from that chapter of her life.
“Maraming salamat po sa mga nagpapadala sa akin ng mga mensahe na suporta. Maraming salamat sa walang sawa na pagmamahal ninyo sa akin mula noon hanggang ngayon. Wala po kayong dapat ipag-alala,” she maintained.

“Okay na okay po ako, sa tulong ni Lord at ni Mama Mary. huwag na po kayong magpaapekto sa pagpapakasal niya dahil hindi naman po ako apektado. Matagal na po akong moving forward,” she ended.
Previously, Ai-Ai revealed that she already petitioned to have her ex-husband’s green card revoked. A green card is the legal document that Gerald needs to allow him to live and work in the US and later on can apply for a US citizenship.
