Carlos Yulo addressed his bashers, who have been referred to online as “Losartan warriors,” saying he has reached a point where he no longer cares about what they say about him.
In an interview with Susan Enriquez and Joy Barcoma on GMA’s morning show, the two-time Olympic gold medalist was asked about his reaction and message to the people who continue to criticize him on social media.
“Kasi ako, personally, wala naman, eh. I don't really care po kung ano sabihin ng ibang tao,” he maintained.
The term “Losartan warriors” has recently gained traction online as a satirical label for Carlos’ critics, with the term playing on the idea that their blood pressure supposedly rises whenever the gymnast achieves another milestone in his personal life or athletic career.
For Carlos, however, he chooses to give more weight to his own perspective when it comes to determining what is right and wrong.
“Importante kung ano 'yung siguro opinyon ko sa sarili ko rin and 'yung family ko po right now kung ano 'yung tama't mali.”
Although Carlos said he can deal with the criticism directed toward him, he made it clear that he would not want anyone else to experience the same kind of treatment.
“Ako lang, ayoko lang siguro 'pag sa iba nangyari po. Parang disrespectful din po kasi 'yung mga ginagawa nila," he expressed.
The Filipino gymnast also explained that one reason the comments do not affect him as much is because he deliberately chooses not to listen to his critics.
“Bilang ako, wala naman akong problema sa kanilang lahat. Hindi talaga ako nakikinig kasi hindi naman 'yan 'ako' eh. Kumbaga sa akin, alam ko 'yung grounds ko, alam ko kung ano 'yung totoo. Alam ko 'yung ginagawa ko. Mas kilala ko 'yung sarili ko kaysa sa ibang tao.”
The hosts added that Carlos’ ability to remain unfazed by criticism does not mean that he should be subjected to negativity or that people should wish something bad for him.
“Kahit malakas ang loob niya, hindi rin naman tama na humiling tayo ng negative sa kapwa natin,” Joy said.
“Yes,” affirmed Carlos, seconding the sentiment.
Carlos has been in the public eye for years, particularly as he continued to make headlines with his achievements in international gymnastics competitions.
At the same time, his personal life has also drawn attention online.

His widely known feud with his parents became a major topic of discussion, particularly over issues involving finances and their reported disapproval of his relationship with his now-fiancé, Chloe San Jose.

Despite the criticism surrounding him, Carlos has continued to reach major milestones in both his career and personal life.
At the 2026 Asian Games in Japan, he won two gold medals for his triumphant win in the floor exercise and vault events.
His brother, Eldrew, also marked his Asian Games debut by winning a bronze medal in the horizontal bar.
Following their successful campaign in Japan, Carlos, Chloe, and Eldrew returned to the Philippines and were welcomed with a surprise homecoming from Carlos’ “chosen family.”
