Pokwang’s success card keeps on rolling. After winning the Best Actress award in Cinemalaya 2026 for "2 Valid IDs" and the successful sold-out staging of her first musical theater play "Tulog Na," the comedy actress is ready to hit the stage once again. But this time, she’s bringing her long-time friend and comedic partner, Pooh.
Years back, the duo’s stand-up comedy performance was a massive hit with iconic impersonations of Mommy Dionesia Pacquiao and her son Manny, former senator Cynthia Villar, and more.
In 2027, Pooh and Pokwang are energized and excited to bring the house down again.
“Maraming nagme-message, maraming nagpi-PM, nanawagan sa radyo,” said Pooh. “Next year, may mga series of shows na kami. Hindi pa namin alam 'yung title, pero ito ay itu-tour namin around the world.”
“Excited ako, ang pagbabalik tambalan ng Pooh at Pokwang. Looking forward na makapag-travel na kaming dalawa,” said Pokwang.
Recently, the two got together in a show in Ozamiz City for the launch of Purple Yam’s newest product line and endorser, Jeo Ong. The success and the huge crowd they drew sparked the interest of the Purple Yam CEO Oyos Mendoza to possibly produce their comeback stage show next year.
Lately, Pooh has not been visible in the mainstream limelight and he told ABS-CBN News that he has been enjoying the behind-the-scenes work more.
“Namimili na rin minsan ng work, gusto ko 'yun sa corporate world ngayon. Nagbe-behind the scenes ako, may ginagawa akong mga projects, directing, creatives, na-e-enjoy ko. Ibang buhay, na-e-enjoy ko siya,” he said.
Meanwhile, Pokwang is on a roll, with the musical "Tulog Na" touring Cebu next year, as they recently wrapped up their series of sold-out shows at the RCBC Carlos P. Romulo Theater in Makati.
“Tapos na siya ngayon lang, pero meron kaming provincial tour na inaayos. May sepanx (separation anxiety) pa 'ko, kasi nami-miss ko 'yung mga bata (co-actors), na-attach na 'ko sa kanila,” she said.
