P-Pop groups XONARA, KAIA and Pix!e, as well as OPM band Lola Amour join the 21st anniversary of Music Matters Live at CQ @ Clarke Quay, Singapore on Oct. 2 to 4.
The annual independent music festival Music Matters Live is celebrating its 21st year, with performances from 40 incredible emerging artists from 15 countries, across four electrifying nights of free live music and discovery — just in time for Singapore Grand Prix Season.
The Philippines' very own music artists are set to at the event alongside other international acts, particularly from Australia, France, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Singapore, New Zealand and Vietnam.
The festival consists of a variety of music showcases, where attendees can discover the best up-and-coming artists from around the globe performing across venues at CQ @ Clarke Quay, including the Mainstage at CQ @ Clarke Quay's Fountain Square and Swee Lee, among others.
Oct. 2 to 4, the first three nights of the festival, will see the launch of music showcase "MadeIN Philippines Spotlight Weekend," presented by NCCA in partnership with BSE and Music Matters, featuring performances from P-Pop groups KAIA and Pix!e, with rock band Lola Amour. Celebrating music as a cultural exchange, the new showcase aims to Filipino and regional artists and industry communities together at the festival.
The "MadeIN" country showcases has been a defining feature in Music Matters, shining a spotlight on exceptional talent from all around the world. Other regions with a dedicated spotlight weekend include Japan, presented by EXILE TRIBE, and the inaugural Nagaland, India presented by its local government and TaFMA.
Meanwhile, P-pop septet XONARA will be performing at the "Music Is Universal" showcase, presented by UnIversal Music on Oct. 4. Joining them are other Southeast Asian pop groups including DOLLA (Malaysia), LYHAN (Vietnam), MARBLES (Indonesia) and VVV (Thailand).
There will also be the "Sounds Australia" showcases at Music Matters Live on Oct. 3 and 4, as well as the Music Matters Live-presented "MIC CHECK" and "MML SELECT." Closing the festival on Oct. 7 is the showcase, "Girls' Night Out," presented by It's A Girl Thing, Branded — proudly and organically about 50 percent women-led, spotlighting an exceptional breadth of female talent shaping the music scene.
Music Matters Live takes place alongside Asia's leading entertainment industry conference, All That Matters 21st Edition (Oct. 5 to 7), as the flagship event of the Singapore Grand Prix Season.
