It is definitely a strong year for P-pop as another Filipino girl group has gained massive attention online.
KAIA, a five-member group composed of Angela, Charice, Sophia, Alexa, and Charlotte, has been making waves on social media following their powerful rendition of HUNTRIX’s “Take Down” and performance of their single “YOU DID IT” during “Backyard Live Spotlight.”
The performance quickly went viral on X (formerly Twitter), with fans from various fandoms — including Blooms — praising the group’s live vocals, stage presence, and overall performance quality.
Several netizens described KAIA as “underrated” and deserving of more recognition in the growing P-pop scene.
“HELLO??? A P-pop group covering ‘Take Down’ by HUNTR/X??? Oh, they’re taking it BADLY!” one netizen wrote.
As of writing, the tweet has garnered over 59,000 likes, 10,000 reposts, and more than 2 million views.
“Live band, performance, and vocals — THAT’S EATERY AFTER EATERY!!” another user commented.
“Take Down” is one of the featured songs from the award-winning animated film “KPop Demon Hunters.”
Formed in April 2022, KAIA debuted with the track “BLAH BLAH” and has since expanded its audience, now reaching over 121,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.
Recently, the group collaborated with fellow P-pop acts HORI7ON and 1st.One for “Sulong,” the official theme song of a music festival featuring artists from Southeast Asia and South Korea.
A live performance featuring the groups is set to air on KBS World TV on May 21, 2026 (Philippine time).
Earlier this year, KAIA also took home the Listeners’ Choice Award at the Billboard Philippines Women in Music 2026 for their song “Tanga.”
