Key track “Ngayon” an ode to finding peace in the now
Former “Pinoy Big Brother: Gen 11” housemate Dylan Yturralde ventures into the music scene with his self-titled debut EP, “Dylan,” a collection of songs that captures the beauty and messiness of love.
The rising Kapamilya artist, who has a penchant for vintage and old-soul music, hopes to showcase his romantic side and let listeners connect with the different facets of love through his songs.
“Gusto kong maramdaman nila yung pagiging romantic ko. Gusto kong maramdaman nila yung pagmamahal. Kunwari nagye-yearn sila for love, they can just listen to the EP,” said Dylan.
Produced by StarPop label head Roque “Rox” Santos, "Dylan" EP explores loving, losing, finding one’s way back, and learning to move forward through its five pop tracks: “Hulog ng Langit” composed by Ato Arman; “Ngayon” written by Trisha Denise; “Halata Naman Na” penned by Dennis Campañer; “Pikit” composed by Gio Ravelo; and “Dito Ka Lang” written by Ron Pangyarihan.
“Ngayon” serves as the collection’s key track, an intimate love song about finding comfort and peace in simply being with a loved one, without the need to define what the future holds.
Among the EP’s songs, he revealed that “Ngayon” holds a special place in his heart.
“Yung song na ‘yon ang nagbigay sa akin ng meaning. Kailangan focus muna tayo sa ngayon. Huwag nang problemahin ang bukas. Kung masyado nating iisipin ang bukas, hindi natin ma-eenjoy ang moment na ito,” he shared.
The EP is Dylan’s first musical project, following his stint as the “Astig Volleybae ng Pampanga” in “PBB.” The Star Magic artist and former member of the UE Men’s Volleyball Team also previously starred in the iWant series “Love At First Spike.”
He is grateful for the new opportunities and blessings that have come his way this year, particularly the chance to share his gift of singing.
“Excited ako sa mga dumarating na blessing sa akin kasi bago ang lahat. Sa All Star Games, I played basketball. I haven’t played competitive basketball before. Ngayon may sarili na akong kanta. Makikita ko na yung sarili ko sa Spotify,” Dylan excitedly said. “You are never ready; kailangan matapang ka lang at i-enjoy mo ang process at dapat mahal mo ang ginagawa mo.”
“Dylan” EP is out now on music streaming platforms. For more details, follow StarPop on Facebook, X, Instagram, and TikTok.
