After taking part in various lyric-guessing games on "Everybody, Sing!" throughout the weekend, the Songbayanang Baristas finally advanced to the “Everybody GuesSing” Sunday jackpot round with 72 seconds on the clock. Putting their memory and teamwork to the test, the songbayanan was challenged to identify 10 song titles simply by listening to their corresponding instrumentals.
Each correct song title would earn them a cash prize of ₱20,000, while a perfect score of 10 would give them the community singing game show’s coveted ₱1-million jackpot.
The Songbayanang Baristas got off to a promising start, successfully identifying three song titles in their first attempt: OPM band Itchyworms’ “Beer,” Jolina Magdangal’s classic track “Chuva Choo Choo,” and Arthur Nery’s “Isa Lang.” Their first round brought their remaining time down to 37 seconds. In the second round, they managed to identify just one more song, Basil Valdez’s “Ngayon at Kailanman.”
The songbayanan successfully identified Darren Espanto’s “Tama Na” on their third try, leaving them with 13 seconds on the clock. Hoping to add to their winnings, the Songbayanang Baristas bounced back in the next round, correctly naming Sitti’s “Ligaya” and Apo Hiking Society’s “Lumang Tugtugin.”
Cup of Joe’s “Siping” was the final song title they correctly identified before they ultimately ran out of time, ending their bid for the ₱1-million jackpot. It was later revealed that they were unable to identify Lea Salonga’s timeless track “I Am But A Small Voice” and Geneva Cruz’s memorable hit “Ang Gaan Ng Feeling.”
