At night, Gabo (Coco Martin) and Gloria (Julia Montes) reminisces about everything that happened earlier that day. Gabo apologizes to Gloria for tiring her out with their laundry chores, while she says sorry to him for not being able to help that much since she doesn't know the proper way to wash clothes.
Gloria suddenly craves barbecue and asks Gabo if she can have some. Gabo happily grants her wish and tells her that they can have barbecues for dinner. While waiting for her orders to be
done, Gloria helps Gabo gather their dried laundry. One of their young neighbors compliments her out of the blue for being so good at doing the laundry and for being hardworking, saying Gabo is lucky to have her.
However, Gloria refutes it by saying that it's actually her who's lucky to have Gabo as her husband. Mang Kulas (Ahl Opilac) seconds the boy's remark, iterating that Gabo is so lucky to have a beautiful and diligent wife like Gloria—unlike him, whose wife, Aling Diday (Diana Opilac), had him wrapped around her finger.
As they return to their house, Gabo talks about how Aling Berta is famous in Ginintuang Lupa for selling the yummiest barbecue, while Gloria notes how happy their community is. Gabo comments that even though they're underprivileged and most of them haven't finished their studies, they know how to love and respect each other. Thus, even though life in Ginintuang Lupa has been simple, they've remained happy.
Gloria then mentions to Gabo reading somewhere that the land where their homes stand has been acquired by the Jacinto family—her family—which saddens her. Gabo tells her not to believe it since they've shed tears, sweat, and blood and made countless sacrifices just to protect their right to the land they call home. That’s why they won’t let Ginintuang Lupa be taken from them without a fight, and they will defend it at all costs.
At the same time, Gloria can’t shake the fear that Rudy (Joey Marquez) might not be the only one targeted by her Ate Max (Arci Muñoz) and the attorney she was with, as they posed as representatives of a non-government organization. Though Gabo is confident that no one would fall for the scheme knowing how street-smart the people of Ginintuang Lupa are, Gloria is worried that someone or a few might have been deceived like Betchay (Irma Adlawan).
With that thought weighing heavily on her, Gloria urges Gabo to talk to their neighbors and find out if anyone else had signed anything. More importantly, she wants to warn them as well before it becomes too late.
