Since Gabo (Coco Martin) has told Sam (Julia Montes) that he will be heading out very early the following day to find a job, Sam asks if she can clean around the house as a way of keeping herself occupied while he is away. Gabo strongly opposes the idea and advises her to simply wait for him to return because he doesn’t want her to tire herself out. This gives Sam the idea of asking him for them to clean the house together right there and then, starting with his bedroom—much to his astonishment.
When he tries to insist that there’s nothing wrong with his bedroom since it looks clean, Gabo is visibly caught off guard when Sam compares it to the room of a helper or laborer. He becomes defensive, insisting that it is art and that he has put a lot of effort into fixing up and decorating his room—an explanation that fails to impress Sam.
Although there’s no need to repaint the walls, Sam suggests that they begin with his bed by changing the sheet, pillowcases, and blankets. She requests him to check if they have replacements for everything she wishes to change, including new curtains, which he enthusiastically obeys and once again brings up something he has been asking her for quite some time already.
While Gabo acts with zeal as he presents to Sam the bed sheets and curtains he has found, his mood suddenly shifts when Sam asks if they can also remove the punching bag hanging inside his room. He initially refuses, explaining that he uses it to vent his anger whenever he gets into a fight with someone or feels upset. Sam reminds him, however, that his room is not a gym—and that he himself called it their “kuwarto ng mag-asawa,” or couple’s bedroom.
This prompts Gabo to ask Sam what he’ll use to relieve his frustration once they remove the punching bag. Sam simply smiles at him, which Gabo interprets as her conveying that she will take care of that instead. Gabo enthusiastically obliges, giving his beloved punching bag a few final punches and caresses before taking it down and removing it from their room.
Noticing how obedient Gabo becomes whenever he mentions the word “mag-asawa,” Sam realizes that she can use it to get information from him with regard to the Zafra case.
