To help her father, Ricardo (Edu Manzano), resolve the issue of clearing the informal settlers from Ginintuang Lupa so he can proceed with his development plans, Max (Arci Muñoz) volunteers to handle the process that their lawyer has advised them to carry out. Having already gained access to the barangay, she’s confident that it will be easy for her this time to convince the residents to accept their proposed settlement.
Since the residents cannot know that she is a police officer or that she and their lawyer are there to convince them to leave Ginintuang Lupa, Max once again poses as a non-government organization representative offering aid to those affected by the recent demolition. After persuading some residents to sign a document authorizing Rudy Magtibay (Joey Marquez) to represent them in exchange for P5,000 each, Max and Atty. Garcia proceed to the Magtibay residence.
On their way, they chance upon Betchay (Irma Adlawan), who enthusiastically approaches them and willingly accompanies them in talking to Rudy and the rest of their household. When Mameng (Ces Quesada) asks why they are there, Atty. Garcia explains that they have come to negotiate a settlement in connection with the demolition in which Rudy was shot.
As Mameng confirms to them that a case should have been filed first before discussing a settlement, Max points out that they have yet to file any charges and identify a suspect in Rudy’s shooting. Max also reminds Mameng that they have no evidence to support her allegation that a police officer is responsible to the shooting incident.
Betchay then chimes in, supporting Max’s assertion that they don’t have any idea who exactly they’re going to file a case against, so they might end up losing more instead of recovering all the money they spent on Rudy’s medical treatment. This prompts Rudy to speak up, conveying that he actually knows whom to sue as he firmly believes that he was shot on the orders of his former business partner-turned-adversary, Ricardo Jacinto—who, unbeknownst to them, is the father of Max and Sam/Gloria (Julia Montes).
Atty. Garcia warns Rudy that taking the matter to court will be a lengthy process and will require a substantial amount of money. Therefore, she strongly suggests that they accept whatever settlement Max is offering.
Upon learning that they’re only going to receive P200,000, Betchay asks if the amount can be raised to P300,000. Max agrees, saying that they actually have the amount with them at the time, and iterates that what they only ask from them is to sign the documents confirming their settlement.
Gabo suddenly steps in and firmly declares that his father will never agree to the settlement or accept the money being offered. Betchay tries to persuade them again, but Rudy echoes his son’s stance, prompting Gabo to send Max and Atty. Garcia away and warn them never to return.
After the visitors leave, Betchay reproaches Rudy and his family for turning down the offer before stepping out to catch up with Max and Atty. Garcia. It is later revealed, through Sam’s (Julia Montes) inspection of the documents the guests left behind, that they had actually tried to deceive them into believing that they were there to help, when their real intention was to take over the land where their home—and those of the other Ginintuang Lupa residents—stands.
Just when they assume that Betchay is aware of what the documents contain knowing how such a money-minded person she is, she’s actually as appalled as them upon learning the truth and becomes enraged.
