Gilas Pilipinas Men succumbed to South Korea, 21-9, in the semifinals of the 3-on-3 basketball tournament of the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games at the Kinjo Futo Station Square Venue in Japan on Friday.
The Nationals absorbed an 8-to-1 start from the red-hot Koreans, who later led by as many as 12 points, relegating the Philippines to the battle for bronze.
The Philippines will hope to salvage a podium finish against the loser of the Qatar-Iran semifinal.
This was Gilas' first loss of the tournament after the Nationals romped past Mongolia, Sri Lanka, Kazakhstan, and Chinese Taipei en route to the semifinals.
Luis Pablo and Koji Buenaflor each scored three points to lead the Philippines, Nic Cabañero followed with two, while Andrei Dungo scored one point.
Kim Seungwoo, meanwhile, fired eight points built on a pair of two-pointers, while Lee Juyeong drained the game-winning deuce to finish with six points.
