The Philippines settled for fourth place after absorbing its second straight loss of the day, as Gilas could not contain Momeni Mohammadbasir, who scored 12 of Iran’s 21 points.
Andrei Dungo led the Philippines with four points, while his De La Salle University teammate Luis Pablo followed with three points for Gilas, which also lost to South Korea in the semifinals, 21-9.
Nic Cabañero struggled with two points on 2-of-8 shooting, while Koji Buenaflor scored one point.
Iran, on the other hand, secured the bronze medal after recovering from its 14-11 loss to Qatar in the semifinals.
