The star duo from the Philippines virtually secured their spot in the next phase after Bangladesh's second loss in the tournament, placing second in Pool E just behind Kazakhstan with a 1-1 record.

On Sunday, the "SiPons" tandem made a triumphant Asiad debut, dominating the Bangladesh pair of Most Sabina Khatun and Mst Lucky Khatun, 21-6, 21-6.
