MANILA — Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo will return to work in 2027 but is "enjoying her happy life" for now, according to Viva patriarch Vic del Rosario.
Del Rosario received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Film Development Council of the Philippines on Wednesday, during the closing ceremonies of their month-long celebration of the Philippine Film Industry Month.
Afterward, he gave an update on Geronimo, saying: "Next year, magtatrabaho na. 'Yun lang ang masasabi ko."
"Ayokong manggaling sa akin, parang alam na naman ng tao na hindi siya magtrabaho. Hanggang dun lang," he added. "Sa ngayon, hindi pa siya pwede magtrabaho. She’s enjoying her happy life."
In July, Geronimo had reunited with her parents during her 38th birthday celebration, even singing a duet with her father Delfin.

Asked about Geronimo's renewed relationship with her parents, del Rosario said: "Sila naman parating ayos. Never naman sila nag-away."
"I think maling ano 'yun, 'yung hindi sila bati," he added. "Siguro lang, mas napu-publicize ngayon, pero dati na silang nag-uusap."
"'Yung kay Matteo, I think, by next year ayos na," he also said. "'Di ba, lahat naayos?"
Del Rosario also thanked the FDCP for his award, and revealed that he still aims to produce at least 20 films every year despite struggling box office sales.
"Siyempre may mahina, may blockbuster. Ganun talaga ang film production," he said. "Ang importante is to have more winners than losers.
"Pero kailangan mong gumawa nang tuloy-tuloy. We are committed to the film industry," he stressed.
Viva is also now venturing heavily into theater, highlighted by their musical effort "Bongga Ka Day." Del Rosario said there will be more in the pipeline, including a production of "Si Aida, Si Lorna at si Fe" and a musical adaptation of "The Working Girls." — report from MJ Felipe, ABS-CBN News
