Sisi Rondina and Bernadeth Pons. POC Media PoolThe Alas Pilipinas beach squad which will eventually emerge on top of the beach volleyball contest at the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 will receive an extra incentive.
This was the pledge of Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) president Frank Lao, who vowed Saturday to give the winners P100,000 in cash, on top of government-mandated rewards.
The pledge came amid the Asiad campaigns of Sofiah Pagara and Khy Progella, Sisi Rondina and Bernadeth Pons, as well as Ronniel Rosales and James Buytrago.

The Pagara-Progella tandem, which was already bound for the Round of 16, just concluded the preliminaries with a 3-0 sweep of Pool G, turning back Hong Kong duo of Wong Man Ching and Tsang Ngok Ling, 21-19, 21-17, earlier in the day.

Rondina and Pons are also through the next phase despite a 17-21, 21-10, 10-15 loss to Kazakhstan on Friday, while the Asiad bid of Rosales and Buytrago is on the line as they face the undefeated Indonesian side of Bintang Akbar and Sofyan Rachman Efendi this Sunday.
“I hope magtuloy-tuloy ang panalo, ito naman ang aim natin eh, to conquer Asia and then eventually, we will try to pool our resources to dominate the world, suntok sa buwan, pero walang imposible,” Lao said.
The campaign of Lerry Francisco and Ran Abdilla had already concluded after a 0-2 output in Pool A of men's volleyball tourney.
