MANILA — Drag queen J Quinn admitted that she regretted "yapping" during her stint on "Drag Race Philippines" season 3.
Popularly known in the short video format app TikTok, yapping means "to talk in a shrill insistent way," based on Merriam-Webster's website.
Speaking to reporters in a roundtable discussion, J Quinn said she learned to not talk too much, seeing her 5-episode run in the competition.
"My biggest lesson, watching everything in full, is not to yap so much. Don't talk when it's not needed like, 'girl, shut up, tone it down a little,'" she said.
Amid the conflicts shown in the series, J Quinn assured fans that she has a good relationship with the other contestants.
"During the show, there's a lot of animosity because, of course, we are in a very competitive setting and the girls are fighting. But after the show, we are a tight-knit cast and we update each other," J Quinn said.
"We are all friends despite of what people are saying that we hate each other. No, we are all actually friends, we work with each other a lot in different viewing parties, we see each other often even before the premiere, we do go out to eat in a typical Samgyeopsal style meeting with the queens," she added.
Instead of her yapping, J Quinn hopes that people would remember her for her looks and composition skills.
"I hope they remember the very on-brand runways that I've given, I hope they remember the verse that I've written on 'Dapat Pakak.' That is basically my proudest moment, the very Asian-esque branding," she said.
"What I don't want them to remember is me yapping my mouth like, don't remember that. Just remember the runways, me being cute, me writing lyrics."

The Emmy Award-winning original series has featured the talents of Filipino drag queens in the US and several overseas editions through the years.
